Cultural Savvy’s
“Doing Business in the Persian Gulf: Cross-cultural Business Protocols and
Considerations” is an overview of the key challenges faced by non-Arabs in doing business in the region. The impact of globalization, a more conservative Islam, demographic trends, and the private sector are assessed in terms of how they affect our ability to do business successfully. This program will focus specifically on Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Oman. Despite the fact that the people in these countries share common ethnic and cultural roots, they have distinct experiences in the past 50 years that should be understood by companies that want to be effective in the region.
This program has been designed by Cultural Savvy to provide senior company leaders with helpful insights into how decision-makers who are guiding the economic policies in the
Persian Gulf and their consultants view their world, their relations with the region, and their future. It has a specific focus on insights about this multilayered environment and the major cultural forces in the society that define their business behaviors. From this baseline awareness, the course will then explore how astute companies can incorporate these insights into successful strategies for marketing, negotiating, conflict resolution, and building the relationships that lead to long-term business ties and profitability.

Our
Methodology
The
emphasis in the Cultural Savvy design of programs is to
encourage discussion of concepts and exchange of experiences
among the participants through the use of directed
presentations, exercises, video, questions, critical incidents,
handouts, and small group activities. The goal of the program is
to provide insights needed to shape the company’s strategic
vision and tactical steps for a successful business model that
leads to investments in the company’s products and services.
Participants will use their own experiences and anecdotal
materials to gauge their capabilities to act effectively when
doing business in the
Persian
Gulf.
